Personal Artwork
Personal Artwork
My artwork reflects a strong foundation in observation, material exploration, and expressive mark-making. I work across a range of media, including acrylic paint, charcoal, ink, watercolor, and ceramics, using both representational and exploratory approaches.
Many of my works are based on direct observation of familiar subjects such as people, animals, still life objects, architecture, and vehicles. Through acrylic painting, watercolor, and charcoal drawing, I focus on proportion, value, texture, and form while allowing each medium’s unique qualities to remain visible. In my ceramic work, including slab-built and functional pieces.
My studio practice values process over perfection. I view each piece as an opportunity to practice skills, take creative risks, and reflect on the relationship between technique and personal expression. This mindset directly informs my teaching philosophy, as I encourage students to experiment, observe closely, and embrace revision as part of learning. By maintaining an active and varied artistic practice, I model for students the importance of curiosity, craftsmanship, and confidence in creative decision-making.
